Congratulations to Sofrimar who are one of seven finalists in contention for the ‘Green Seafood Business Award’ sponsored by BIM at the upcoming Green Awards in the Doubletree Hotel, Dublin on the 8th April.

Along with fellow nominees Island’s Seafoods, Quinlan’s Fish, Glenmar Shellfish, HF Foods, Irish Seafood Producers Group and Shellfish Ireland; Sofrimar are delighted to be shortlisted for this prestigious award.

Sofrimar was established in 1979 to harness the abundant supply of shellfish and whitefish landed at Kilmore Quay, Co. Wexford with a view to supplying key European markets, particularly France. The company has been very successful and has expanded rapidly investing in state of the art facilities and is now supplying the lucrative Asian market with premium quality Irish seafood.

During this expansion, Sofrimar ensured that this growth took place in a responsible manner with the local environment in mind. The following are some of the items achieved under our green project:
