EU organisation FAMENET celebrates BIM’s Aquaculture Remote Classroom (ARC) in short video launched this week

FAMENET, the EU organisation set up to monitor the impact of EU maritime funds, including the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) and the European Maritime Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) has produced a short video that tells the story of BIM’s Aquaculture Remote Classroom (ARC).

Four years on from its launch in 2019, BIM’s Aquaculture Remote Classroom (ARC) is continuing on its quest to build understanding among younger audiences about how seafood is farmed in Ireland in a fun and truly immersive way.

To date the ARC, supported by the European Maritime Fisheries Fund (EMFF) has visited more than 70 primary schools, delivered in-person interactive lessons to more than 2,600 children as well as attending many festivals and public outreach events.

“We’ve found that if we improve the base level of knowledge and understanding among younger communities, awareness and knowledge improves drastically.” – Máirtín Walsh, BIM
