Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM), Ireland’s Seafood Development Agency, is the state agency with primary responsibility for the sustainable development of the Irish seafood industry. To this end BIM provides training, technical expertise, business support, funding, and promotes responsible environmental practice to the Seafood Industry in Ireland.

The Panel, a specialist search & selection consultancy have been retained by BIM to manage the
appointment of a talented and energetic Director of Corporate Services.
The Role The Corporate Services Director is a critical role which will be based in Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin and will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. The Director will be a key member of the senior management team and will be responsible for providing the strategic vision, planning and operational leadership for Corporate Services to support BIM in delivering its strategy. S/he will act as the Secretary to BIM’s Board of Directors, where the responsibilities include support, planning and administration associated with all Board activities. S/he will have responsibility for Finance, ICT, Procurement, Fleet Services, Investment Services and Project Management of BIM’s Ice Plant network. S/he will also have responsibility for the accounting and financial control of all BIM’s operations, including all legal and statutory requirements.
The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will have experience in finance management at a senior level in either the public or private sector. A degree or equivalent professional qualification in accounting, finance or a governance discipline is required. S/he will have a comprehensive understanding of the Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies and the Public Spending Code. S/he can demonstrate strong leadership qualities and have a track record in managing, motivating and developing a team of high performing individuals.
S/he can demonstrate excellent strategic foresight with an ability to translate that plan into meaningful objectives.
Remuneration
Principal Officer Grade (€79,401 – €97,194).
The successful candidate will be appointed at the lowest entry point on the above scale.
