BIM hosts free online information session on funding opportunities

€25 million in funding available to Ireland’s coastal businesses

Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM), Ireland’s Seafood Development Agency is hosting an information session to encourage applications to its €25 million funding scheme, the Brexit Blue Economy Enterprise Development Scheme, available to businesses in sectors including seafood, coastal tourism, marine leisure, boat building and renewables. The aim of the scheme is to stimulate growth in rural coastal communities post-Brexit.

The online seminar will give details on the available funding, and its benefits, and will include a practical guide on how to apply.

The free event is taking place on Wednesday 22 March at 12:00 (noon local time).

The scheme is open to four categories of projects: Capital Investment; Business Mentoring, Capacity Development, and Upskilling & Training and from people working in any of the following Blue Economy areas:

The online information session follows a series of meetings around the coast of Ireland over the last few months.

The Scheme is an initiative of the Government of Ireland and the European Union, and is being administered by Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM) and delivered through Fisheries Local Action Groups (FLAGs).
