BIM congratulates young marine engineering graduates at Fish Ireland Show, 2012

Marine engineering graduates Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM), the Irish Sea Fisheries Board, supported the recent Fish Ireland, 2012 trade show held in Killybegs, Donegal on the 29th and 30th June.

Marine engineering graduates Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM), the Irish Sea Fisheries Board, supported the recent Fish Ireland, 2012 trade show held in Killybegs, Donegal on the 29th and 30th June.

Organised by the Marine Times newspaper, the show is an important event in the calendar for the Irish Seafood Industry and BIM were available at the show to offer information on the services the agency provides to industry over the weekend.

BIM also took the opportunity to recognise the achievements of five young marine engineering graduates from BIM’s National Fisheries College, Greencastle. The students from counties Wicklow, Mayo, Donegal, Cork and Kerry recently achieved their certificates in competency for the Class 3 Marine Engineer Course. BIM Board member Sean O’Donoghue and Brian Vaughan, Senior Engineering Instructor at BIM’s National Fisheries College, Greencastle presented the students with their certificates at the show on Friday morning.

BIM also announced that one of the students, David Kelly from Greencastle, Co. Donegal had won the overall distinction of ‘BIM Marine Engineering Trainee of the Year, 2012’
