A previous ‘Seafood Specialist’ winner of BIM’s Seafood Circle initiative; Quinlan’s fish has been in business for 54 years and has developed a strong brand and excellent reputation for quality seafood. The business continues to be a family enterprise recently handed on by Michael Quinlan to his three sons, Liam, Ronan and Fintan. The Company together with the related family business of Q.C.’s Townhouse and Seafood Restaurant are now considerable employers in the South Kerry region.  The Quinlan Company has grown phenomenally over the years and it now supplies quality fresh fish, shellfish and smoked salmon via its website www.kerryfish.com or directly from Quinlan’s fish shops in Tralee, Killarney, Killorglin and Caherciveen as well as the newly opened Quinlan’s Seafood Bars in Killarney and Tralee. The Quinlan brand has certainly gathered momentum throughout the county of Kerry and plans to grow the Seafood Bar model beyond the Kingdom in 2014 are underway.

Liam Quinlan expressed his delight at the awards for the business; ‘To receive two gongs on one night is absolutely fantastic. We are surprised, overwhelmed and delighted of course. Thank you to Radio Kerry for keeping it positive, it is a great to see so many businesses do so well in Kerry and it shows we are all moving on and up after a difficult recession. Thank you to all our wonderful hardworking staff in our processing and retail facilities. I would also like to thank BIM for their advice and support in various areas of our business this year and with our new ‘Quinlan’s’ brand in place for our retail stores and the new seafood bars in Killarney and Tralee, we are looking forward to a busy 2014’

BIM has worked closely with the business over the years and recently assisted Quinlan’s with its plans to rebrand its retail business from Kerry Fish (Ire) Ltd. to Quinlan’s Fish. The company also worked with BIM’s Seafood Development Centre (SDC) in Clonakilty to develop a new fish cake product that is sure to be popular with Quinlan’s loyal customer base.

Paul Ward, BIM’s Seafood Development Centre Manager congratulated the company; ‘Well done to the Quinlan’s on this fantastic achievement. We have always enjoyed working with Quinlan’s as their passion for what they do is evident in how they have developed and evolved as a company over the years. We were delighted to be able to work with them on new product development and also through the placement of a graduate from our Seafood Development Centre who I am pleased to say will be staying on in the company in their marketing division’
