BIM now wishes to recruit an Accounts Payable Processor, based in its Dun Laoghaire offices. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager the Accounts Payable Processor will process all incoming invoices from receipt through approval and final payment. In addition, the person will help develop the automation of any remaining manual tasks, with the objective of enhancing the efficiency of the payment systems.
The principal functions of the post include:

Maintenance of Exchequer Creditors Ledger/Creditors Queries

Registering and posting creditors’ invoices daily and preparation for clearance through iDocs system.

Payment of cleared invoices weekly or as required

Reconciliation of Supplier accounts with monthly statements

Preparation of foreign exchange payments electronically and input details to Business on Line for payment.

Knowledge of Professional Services Withholding Tax to ensure that deduction is made to the required individuals or companies prior to payment.

Requirement, on occasion, to cover the work duties of colleagues in the general accounts section.
Ideal candidate
Ideally, candidates will have a minimum of 2 years prior experience of working in an automated accounts payable processing environment, preferably in medium/large organisations with a high volume of Accounts Payable transactions. The successful candidate will possess thorough knowledge of accounting and financial systems ad experience of working toward and meeting strict deadlines. A high level of numeracy and computer skills is essential as well as proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Finance qualifications such as a business degree/diploma/certificate or AAT (qualified or part qualified), while not essential, would be very beneficial.
