Producer Organisation Scheme

The Producer Organisation Scheme is established under Union Priority 5 (Marketing and Processing) of Ireland’s Operational Programme under the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund 2014 – 2020, co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Commission.

Part A: Formation of new Producer Organisation

Who is Eligible Who is Eligible

This scheme provides supports to groups of fisheries or aquaculture producers working to achieve recognition as a Producer Organisation. This is a non-competitive intervention.  An application will be assessed based on evidence of the bona-fides of the proposal, together with details of the applicants. Support under this section will be available up to the point of formal decision by the competent authority on an application for recognition and will not be dependent on a successful application.

Part B: Supports Producer Organisations for the preparation and implementation of Production and Marketing Plans

PART B is now closed

Production and Marketing Plans (PMP) provide for a range of actions which you, the Producer Organisations, propose to implement.

On approval of the PMP by the competent authority, in addition to the Annual Report for the year concerned, expenditure related to the implementation of identified measures in the PMP is eligible for support.

How long does the process take?

From application to approval under this scheme usually takes up to six weeks but may take longer should supporting documentation additional to the application be required.
