Higher Diploma in Aquabusiness

BIM has teamed with ITC Carlow to provide a Higher Diploma in Business in Aquabusiness at NFQ Level 8.

This course is designed to cater for those looking to enter management, financial, Research and Development or regulatory roles in fisheries, aquaculture, seafood processing and related fields. This innovative course may also appeal to those looking to start an aquabusiness company or expand an existing company into new markets.

When and Where

The full Higher Diploma has commenced for the academic year 2020- 2021; though the following remaining modules are starting on the respective dates and can be taken individually as stand alone modules with a QQI Level 8 Certificate Award.

Currently all modules are being taught remotely due to Covid -19 restrictions on Fridays and Saturdays every second week.

Qualification

Awarded at NFQ Level 8

 

Entry Requirements

NFQ Level 7 or level 8 Award or equivalent in a related discipline or relevant industry experience

Consideration is also given to applicants who do not hold level 7 QQI academic qualification but who have extensive industry experience which can be Recognised Prior Learning (RPL)

 

Fee

€2,500 for the full course (€450 for individual module certificates).

Examination and assignments

 

Duration

Runs fortnightly on Fridays and on Saturdays from 10am-4pm over the academic year (Indicative).

Grant Aid

Funding for the course fee and subsistence costs may be available through the https://bim.flexigrant.com. Application for funding must be made prior to the start of the module.
