BIM and RNLI to give Man Overboard demonstration at Irish Skipper Expo 2023

Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM), Ireland’s Seafood Development Agency, headline sponsor to the Irish Skipper Expo in 2023, and the RNLI have announced they will provide a Man Overboard demonstration at this year’s Irish Skipper Expo. The short demonstration will take place at the pool in UL Sport Arena on Friday 24 February at 2pm and will be based on the new pilot training programme confirmed to start in January 2023 in Co Donegal.

BIM staff will be on board its Coastal Training Unit (CTU) during the two-day trade show in Limerick and available to discuss the Man Overboard training it is piloting with the RNLI.  Details about BIM’s wider suite of safety training programmes will also be shared with visitors.

The BIM CTU will be on site located to the right of the entrance.  Safety training demonstrations will also be carried out for visitors by BIM trainers this year.

BIM has sponsored the Irish Skipper Expo for more than a decade with support from the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund.
