Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM), the Seafood Development Agency is delighted to announce a full programme including high profile speakers for their upcoming Seafood Leadership event on the 13th May in Killashee House, Hotel, Naas, Co. Kildare.

Aimed at Irish Seafood companies, the half day event from 8.00am – 1.00pm is designed to follow on from work already underway to build sufficient scale and drive growth as highlighted in BIM’s ambitious Corporate Strategy ‘Capturing Ireland’s Share of the Global Seafood Opportunity 2013-2017’

To ensure delegates are ready to take part in what promises to be a stimulating and interactive event; a motivational breakfast briefing with Brian Cody, Kilkenny’s highly successful Hurling Manager will kick-start the proceedings.

The main part of the event will be under the expert chairmanship of well-known economist, David McWilliams with a series of discussions, talks and question and answer sessions on how our current largely fragmented seafood industry can build scale and overcome existing challenges. As the majority of seafood companies are family owned enterprises, Vincent Carton, CEO of Manor Farm Poultry will discuss family succession and how you can best scale a family owned business.

Joe Gill, Director in Corporate Broking for Goodbody Stockbrokers will deliver some food for thought in terms of next steps for the seafood industry from his wealth of expertise in the dairy sector.

To demonstrate how a producer led collective can succeed and overcome the issues associated with fragmentation, Stephen Cameron, CEO, Scottish Shellfish Marketing Group will deliver a Scottish perspective on joint venture operations.

Eddie Power, CEO, GreenIsle Foods will bring a global perspective to proceedings with the scaling opportunities available to Irish Seafood companies on key international markets. This will lead to a full and interactive panel discussion with seafood industry leaders and amble opportunity for all delegates to take part.

With such a phenomenal line up of expert speakers, places will be limited so to avoid disappointment book your place on line and avail of the early bird discount on BIM’s website www.bim.ie
