BIM to host Energy Management Seminar on 08 May

Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM), the Seafood Development Agency recently partnered with IBEC, EPA’s GreenBusiness.ie and SEAi to run a series of free seminars to assist businesses to manage energy and explore smart and inexpensive methods of reducing energy costs.

Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM), the Seafood Development Agency recently partnered with IBEC, EPA’s GreenBusiness.ie and SEAi to run a series of free seminars to assist businesses to manage energy and explore smart and inexpensive methods of reducing energy costs.

The first of these seminars will be hosted by BIM in its purpose built Seafood Innovation Centre (SDC) in Clonakilty, Co. Cork on the 8th May. The half day seminar includes case studies from a range of companies who have put strategies in place to substantially cut their energy costs including The Carbery Group; the Musgrave Group and Shellfish de la Mer.

Expert talks will also be delivered by the SEAi (Key Tips for Saving Energy Costs) and Ecofleet who will advise attendees on how to save money and operate a fuel efficient commercial vehicle fleet. BIM will introduce their new Green Seafood Business Programme which aims to deliver resource efficiency improvements and reduce the operating costs for seafood businesses. In addition to direct cost savings, eco-efficiency can also assist in increasing market advantage and differentiation.
