Programme Overview The aim of this course is to qualify persons to be in command of a passenger boat from
P1 – P6 -12 persons.
Person(s) who wish to skipper a small passenger vessel.

35 directed hours (5 days full-time).
Classroom based, and practical instruction on a suitable vessel.
Department of Transport Passenger Boat Certificate of Proficiency – Category A Commercial Endorsement.
On successful completion of the programme, and having the ancillary courses required, a learner is certified to be a skipper of a small passenger boat .
Ancillary courses required are as follows;
Written and practical examinations.
