Donegal-based seafood processor Atlanfish has been awarded the Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM) sponsored Seafood Exporter of the Year at the 2025 Export Industry Awards, held on Friday evening (3 October) at Dublin’s Royal Convention Centre.

Founded in 1976 by Tom Gallagher, Atlanfish has specialised in premium-quality brown crab for nearly fifty years. Today, the family-owned business is continuing a legacy of excellence and innovation in seafood processing and export.

Atlanfish exports to key international markets including France, Sweden, the UK, and Japan, where Irish brown crab is recognised for its superior quality.

Accepting the award on behalf of the company, Yvonne McCarron, General and Quality Manager, and Declan McCarthy, General Manager of Finance and Sales, highlighted the importance of collaboration and partnership in the company’s success.

“This recognition is more than just an award, it’s a reflection of the incredible people behind Atlanfish,” according to Yvonne McCarron. “ Every member of our team, from our processing floor to our logistics, quality, and sales teams, has played a vital role in earning this achievement.
