The European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) 2021-2027 is the primary funding programme for the seafood sector. It is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the EU.

BIM Grants Support Service BIM is pleased to announce a new service to support members of the fishing sector. This new service will assist fishers in successfully completing grant applications and providing clarification on queries related to BIM fisheries grant schemes.

If a vessel that has received grant aid from BIM is sold during the 5-year control period after the payment of the grant, the unamortised grant amount must be repaid. The amount of grant repayable will be determined pro-rata temporis (monthly) from the date of the change of ownership of the vessel. For example if a vessel received a grant of €10,000 and is being sold two years into the five year control period, the amount to be repaid is €6,000.
