BIM partners with Irish Manufacturing Research on processing solutions

BIM is partnering with Irish Manufacturing Research (IMR) to find solutions to operational issues identified by Irish seafood processors. 

IMR is a leading research and technology organisation providing consultancy services to industry in the areas of digitisation, sustainable manufacturing, automation and robotics. 

Pat O’Leary, Business Development Manager, BIM, said: 

“The Irish seafood processing sector faces unique operational and technological issues such as maximising use of data to reduce downtime and maximise operational capabilities. 

“As we broaden our support services to industry, BIM is pleased to be linking with the Irish Manufacturing Research to provide solutions to help seafood processors overcome challenges which may be hindering their growth. 

“As the seafood industry becomes increasingly automated, IMR will assist demystifying, derisking and delivering emerging technologies and new knowledge. This will enable industry to succeed at the cutting edge of advanced manufacturing.” 

Later this month, IMR will commence a pilot project with a seafood processor to assess the company’s digitalisation capabilities and to provide guidance and insights on the development of their technology roadmap.
