Fair Processing Notice for Job Applicants


This notice outlines the manner in which personal data of those who apply for advertised vacancies will be handled and processed as outlined under data protection legislation. The Data Controller is Bord Iascaigh Mhara, Crofton Road, Dun Laoghaire, County Dublin (BIM).

The policy covers all applicants whose personal data might be processed by BIM.


Categories of Data collected and Lawful Basis for collection

Processing is necessary in order to take steps prior to entering into a contract i.e. extending an offer of employment or entering into a contract of employment. For the purposes of processing job applications, from the point at which we receive your application for employment with BIM, we will need to maintain and process data about you, such as your contact details, and your application, employment history and experience (cv), for the purposes of reaching and communicating a recruitment decision and making of an offer of employment if appropriate.

Your data will not be shared with any third parties and will be maintained securely by our Human Resources Department. Such data is normally retained for 12 months following completion of our recruitment processes if an offer of employment is not made.
