Daniel graduated from Catering College in Poland in 2004. He worked in top quality restaurants for two years before deciding to travel the world and his first stop was Ireland and 11 years later he is still here.
He has held a number of positions in Tarpey’s SuperValu. The MD recognised his potential and he was promoted to Fresh Food Manager. His passion is for fish and over the last year, fish sales on both the wet fish counter and prepacked have grown significantly. Food Innovation has also played a role in the growth of the seafood business in Tarpey’s SuperValu with Daniel at the helm.
Dan has over 30 years experience working in the Seafood Industry. He currently heads up the team in Garvey’s SuperValu as Fish Consultant and is responsible for buying fish. With Dan in charge, sales of fish are significantly up on last year.
He likes to look after the customers by offering a variety of quality, innovative products at excellent prices. In-store tasting is also done on a weekly basis so customers can sample what is on offer. A new wet fish counter will shortly be installed to meet customer demand for fish in this busy store.
Scott started his career working on commercial fishing boats for six years. It was a great learning experience but he was eager to progress to working in the seafood retail sector. He began working on fish counters where he found the time he had spent working on the boats was invaluable.
He has great knowledge about the variety of fish and shellfish on the wet fish counter and his customers really enjoy learning more about the fish they are buying. From his experience of the seafood retail trade, he has been instrumental in the launch of many new seafood counters. He prides himself on his customer service skills and his in-depth knowledge of the seafood industry. He is part of the Dunnes Stores seafood team who are all as passionate about fish and seafood as he is.
Piotr came to Ireland from Poland and started working in Field’s SuperValu nine years ago. He was working between the meat and fish counter. He liked working on the fish counter and after six months he was put in charge of managing it.
He is responsible for ordering all the fish and preparing the ‘Prepared by the Fishmonger’ range. He gives his customers tips on what fish to buy and shares cooking ideas with them. In Field’s SuperValu, they are always willing to try new innovative ideas so they can offer their customers the best choice of seafood.
