BIM hosted Catch-Up Event as lead-in to the 2018 Skipper Expo

Due to the extreme national weather warning, BIM unfortunately has to cancel its Women in Seafood and Catch up events in the Galway Bay Hotel in Co. Galway, today March 1st

We apologise for any inconvenience this causes.

When and Where?

Thursday 1 March 2018, in the Galway Bay Hotel, Galway.

What’s on Offer?

BIM is hosting a meeting for women from Ireland’s seafood sector as a follow-up to its facilitation of the first networking event for women in the seafood industry it held in 2017.

This meeting will explore the setting up of an online forum for women to share information that will support and drive improved efficiencies in the business and promote greater female participation in the sector.

12.30pm Lunch for all workshop attendees.

BIM will simultaneously run three 55-minute interactive information sharing mini-seminars. Each session will be repeated three times, so that all attendees can attend each one and not miss out. These afternoon sessions will cover:

  1. The Future of Fishing – attracting the next generation into the sector
  2. Saving Money and Effort – the latest gear technology explained
  3. Financial Supports for Fishermen and their Families – do you know what you are entitled to?

Each session will be designed to facilitate open discussion and information sharing. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear directly from representatives from Ireland’s catching sector, BIM staff and financial experts with specialist “know how” for family fishing businesses.

6.30pm All attendees are invited to a buffer dinner hosted by BIM.
